Neonix Privacy Policy

Effective 30 September 2026. Polska wersja

Neonix is a mobile light-cycle game. This page explains what data it handles, what for, and what you can do about it. It is written to be understood; there is no fine print elsewhere.

The short version: we do not ask for your email, a password, your real name, or access to your contacts, photos or location. All you need to play is a nickname, and you can make it up. Ads are never personalised, and usage statistics are only sent if you say yes.

Who is responsible

Neonix is made and run by Ad Astra, an independent developer based in Spain. For anything about this policy, or to have your data deleted, write to neonix@atomicmail.io.

What data is handled

What you give us

DataWhat for
The nickname you chooseSo other players can tell you apart in the match and on the scoreboard.
Your colour, bike, pilot and trailTo draw your bike and remember what you have equipped.

We do not check whether the nickname is your real name, and we recommend it isn't.

What the game generates

DataWhat for
A random identifier for your saved game A random number created on your phone the first time you play. It is the only thing tying your progress to your account: it does not come from your phone, your email, or anything of yours.
Credits, experience, level and items earnedYour progress.
When you last opened the gameFor the daily streak and the four-hourly chest.

What online play needs

Matches against other people run through Photon, which handles the connection. That involves processing your IP address, as any internet connection does. While you play, other players see your nickname, your colour and your bike: that is the match.

Where your progress is stored

Your save is kept on a server of ours, rented from netcup and hosted in Germany (European Union). Tied to that random identifier, it stores:

DataWhat for
Your nickname and public code (for example Pau#0042) So people can tell you apart and find you. Two people may share a nickname: the four digits separate them.
Your colourTo write your name in it on the scoreboard.
What you have equipped (bike, pilot, trail and celebration) So your pilot looks the same when you recover your save on another phone.
Your Google Play Games identifier for Neonix, only if you link it To give you your save back on another phone or after reinstalling. See below.
Credits, experience, level and itemsYour progress.
Ranking pointsFor the leaderboard.
Daily streak and when you last opened the gameFor the streak and the chest.

The leaderboard is public inside the game: anyone who opens it sees your nickname, your colour and your level. If you would rather not appear there, pick a nickname that does not identify you.

Google Play Games (optional)

If you use Google Play Games on your phone, Neonix links your save to it, so you can get it back if you change phones or reinstall the game. You can also link it yourself, or unlink it, in Settings ▸ Account. Without Google Play Games the game works exactly the same.

DataWhat for
The identifier Google gives your Play Games profile for this game To find your save again. It is not your email or your Google account, and it only works for Neonix.
Your Play Games name Shown only to you, in Settings ▸ Account. It is not stored on our server and other players never see it: in matches you are always your Neonix nickname and pilot.

We do not receive your email, your contacts or anything else from your Google account. To confirm who you are, our server asks Google directly with a single-use code; your phone never sends the identifier itself.

Google Play Games is a Google service, covered by Google's privacy policy. Even though Neonix uses its own nicknames and pilots, Google may still record your activity in Neonix and associate it with your Play Games profile, as it does with any game that uses Play Games.

How the game is used (statistics) — only if you say yes

The first time you open the game, after choosing your nickname, it asks whether you want to help improve it with anonymous usage statistics. Both answers are one tap away, and the game is exactly the same either way.

These notes carry a separate random number, created on your phone only for this, and only once you have said yes. It is not your save's identifier, your nickname or your public code, and we do not match it to them. That is what we mean by anonymous: the notes never include your name, your nickname or your account, and we cannot tell who you are from them. Because they do share that random number, the law still treats them as personal data (pseudonymous data), and we handle them as such: with your consent, and deleted on request.

The number is shown in Settings ▸ Account, so you can quote it if you want the notes deleted. Note it down before switching the statistics off: switching them off deletes the number from your phone, and without it we have no way of telling which notes were yours (Art. 11 GDPR), so we could not find them to delete them. No third party is involved: the notes stay on our server in Germany and are only used to improve the game.

You can change your answer at any time in Settings ▸ Game ▸ Anonymous usage statistics. Switching it off stops the notes at once, deletes the ones still waiting on your phone and deletes that random number.

Advertising

The game is free and paid for by ads, served by Unity Ads. Most ads are optional: the ones that give you something (doubling a prize, opening the chest sooner) only play if you choose them, and can always be ignored. There are also a few short ads between matches: at most one when you go back to the menu per session, and one every three times you press «play again». Neither is shown during your first two sessions.

Ads in Neonix are never personalised. Every time the game starts, before any ad is requested, it tells Unity Ads that you have not agreed to personalised advertising. Unity Ads then shows generic ads, chosen without building a profile of you. To show an ad at all and to count it, Unity Ads still receives technical data such as your IP address and your phone's model and settings, as any ad on the internet does; Unity explains what it does with it in its own privacy policy, linked above. You can also reset or switch off your phone's advertising identifier in your phone's own settings, at any time.

To deliver an ad, the Unity Ads software inside the game also keeps some data on your phone, such as the ad being loaded and how often ads have been shown. That is what it takes to show the ads the game offers and to count them; because you have not agreed to personalised advertising, it is not used for it.

What is NOT handled

Why we are allowed to use it

UseLegal basis (GDPR)
Your account, your progress, matches and the leaderboard Providing the game you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b)).
Google Play Games link Providing the game you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b)); it only happens if you use Play Games.
Usage statistics Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), asked for inside the game. You can withdraw it in Settings at any time.
Generic ads Our legitimate interest in keeping the game free (Art. 6(1)(f)). Ads are never personalised.

Who it is shared with

Only the providers needed to make the game work, and only what they need:

Unity Technologies and Google are based in the United States, so what they handle may be processed there. Each of them explains in its own privacy policy the safeguards it uses for data leaving the European Union.

We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to anyone for commercial purposes.

How long it is kept

Your progress is kept for as long as you keep playing. If you uninstall the game, the random identifier disappears from your phone and with it the way back to that save, even though the data stays on the server — unless you linked Google Play Games, in which case opening the game with the same Google account brings it back.

Usage statistics are deleted automatically after 400 days. Deleting your data (below), or switching the statistics off, also deletes the random number they carry from your phone, so nothing new is ever added to what was sent before.

To have it deleted for good you can do it yourself, from Settings ▸ Account ▸ Delete my data inside the game, and it happens on the spot. If you have already uninstalled Neonix, see how to delete your account.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, its correction or deletion, or that we stop processing it; you can also withdraw your consent to usage statistics at any time — from Settings, without writing to us. Withdrawing it does not affect what was sent before. For anything else, write to the address above and we will answer.

If you think we have got it wrong, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. In Spain that is the AEPD; in Poland, the UODO (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych).

Children

Neonix is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you are a parent or guardian and believe this has happened, write to us and we will delete it.

If you are under 16, the usage statistics question is not yours alone to answer: in Poland, consent to this kind of processing only counts from 16 (Art. 8 GDPR; other countries set the age between 13 and 16). Answer No, thanks, or ask your parent or guardian to decide with you. Saying no changes nothing in the game. If you said yes, you or your parent can switch it off at any time in Settings ▸ Game.

Terms of use

The rules of the game — nicknames, cheating, what credits are — are in the terms of use.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. If the change is significant, we will tell you inside the game.
